About Fukui City

Since its birth in 1889, Fukui City has faced a number of calamities including damages from war, earthquake, and flooding. Nonetheless, the city rose from the ashes like a phoenix, and continues to develop.
Fukui City is abundant in nature preserved by our ancestors, delicious food, a nurturing environment for children, and a respectful community. Additionally, starting with the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins, Fukui City proudly maintains historical sites and has produced historical figures. Fukui’s traditions, which have evolved throughout its long history, still exist today.
